Cathodic corrosion protection
The rate of corrosion of a metal depends on the potential. For cathodic corrosion protection, anodes are used to conduct direct current into the protected object.
This moves the potential of the metal to a negative value, and thus protects the metal.
Innovative cathode materials have been developed for these techniques in recent years.
Where our cathodic corrosion protection
can be used:
- Deep bore wells
- Structural reinforcing steel
- Intake structures in hydro-electric power stations
- Clarification plants for cooling water
- Hydro-electric power station turbines
- Power station condensers
- Power station screen units
- Water tanks
- Pipework
- Travelling band screens
The benefits for you of cathodic
corrosion protection from eKS:
- Sea water constructions, hydro-electric power stations, etc.
are more reliable and cheaper to maintain
- Corrosion problems in hydro-electric
power station turbines caused by high-chloride media are prevented
- The potentials in critical connection points between C-steel
and stainless steel are permanently monitored, for
maximum safety
- Very low power consumption
- Individually adaptable to systems with
differing conductivity
- Retrofitting also possible
- Problem-free for installation in potable water plants
- Prevention of galvanic corrosion (contact corrosion)
